Urban Jungle, in the Good Sense

I'm an urbanite. Have been for over twenty years. But sometimes my rural roots show! This summer, our inner city balcony turned into a bit of a jungle! Tomatoes, peppers, a baby fig tree, flowers, and a pretty substantial assortment of herbs!

It isn't a pretty garden, in the conventional sense. But it is full of life, including butterflies, bees, and even a solitary mockingbird! (Didn't know that Toronto HAD those). It has been a mini refuge from the noise and congestion of inner city life. And a great supplement to our summer diet!
