Fences block us. Fences protect us. It all depends upon the perspective, doesn't it? But, in addition to the practical purposes of fences, they are also decorative, and great for acting as impromptu trellises & plant focal points.
I don't like ALL fences, but I do like many fences... whether wood, brick, stone or wrought iron, they add texture, colour and design to all that is nearby.
It's not ALWAYS bad to feel fenced in!
