Glorious Day!

What an incredible day: temperature (finally) approaching 20C, brilliant, intense sunshine, and green, luxuriant life popping forth everywhere the eye turns! Even here in the downtown of a glass and cement metropolis, Spring is hard to miss. Pub and cafe patios flood with patrons eager to savour a pint or a latte al fresco. Tufts of grass, tree buds, and early spring flowers seem to grow by the hour. Life, real life, is returning to the Big City.

Naturally, Nature twisted my arm and "forced" me out on another meandering walk. Who was I to resist her charms? So, off I went, camera in tow, to catch a further glimpse of my favourite season.

Come, walk with me! You know you want to...

Spring, Finally!

It's taken forever, but Spring...blessed, glorious Spring...is finally here! And it is a Spring of new beginnings in my life as well. After a long time of thinking and procrastination, I've finally made the decision to go back to college. I've applied, and been accepted, at George Brown College, here in Toronto, in the Community Worker program.

With this big change, I will finally have a way to get back to living out my ideals in my life and career. As a result, I have been a little busy in prep work for the big change of life, and haven't had much of a chance to work on this blog. But I am still taking photos, AND I am even looking at a means of combining my passion for photography with my new life and career. More on that to follow...

I have always loved this season, and the vision of new life arising out of death all around us. Maybe it speaks to my innate optimism, and it certainly has been heightened by my near-death a few years ago,  but in any case I love to be out in the midst of the verdant blooming of nature as much as possible.

Last Sunday, my partner, Daniel, and I went for a four hour walk through the Taylor Creek and Don River ravines. It was wonderful to see Mother Nature's seasonal rebirth in all its glory! Come, join us on our little walk...

Stay tuned for more updates in the near future. Now that I'm done with the college application process, I'll have a little more time on my hands! SE you all soon!
