Am I Blue...?

Well, this time of year, it's hard NOT to be at least a little blue! The grey skies, lack of daylight hours, and the after-holiday crash leaves many of  us a little listless, tired, and perhaps a little depressed, too, if the truth be told. But scientists tell us that a little light and colour can make a lot of difference when we are in that winter-blues frame of mind!

So, let's do something about that... let's look at some of nature's bright brilliance of colour, from seasons more brilliantly painted by Mother Nature's brush!

Ahhh, now THAT feels BETTER!!

Yet Another Visit to Allan Gardens

On these unbearably long, grey, tedious days of winter, there is nothing like a refreshing blast of warm, humid tropical air! Barring a trip to the tropics, which is out of the question at the moment, a trip down the street to Allan Gardens is a reasonable substitute!

Have I told you all before that I LOVE the place? Well, I do. The greenhouses in the Garden are a traditional Victorian-style  collection of buildings, surrounded by rose gardens and a park full of old oaks and maples in the centre of Toronto... and a wonderful respite from the hubbub of of the busy streets, as well as the winters blahs.

So, once again, walk with me as we peer into the old greenhouses, and their riotous collection of colour, warmth, and perfumed tropical air...

Ahhh, I feel so much better. How about you?

And 2013 Begins!

On New Years's Eve, and the first couple of days thereafter, we were busy boys, with visits to several friends. The finale of this season was a visit with my mom, back in Oxford County.

I love going back home! I don't know if I could ever live there any more, but to visit there, with the wide open spaces, the nature & the fresh air, the place certainly makes a me relax from everyday life in the big city. Daniel has fallen in love with the place, and my mother, too!
